Why Local First?
In order to make Milwaukee a more sustainable community, our goal is to build market share for locally-owned, independent businesses by increasing awareness about the personal and community benefits of choosing local. Remember, for every $1 you spend at a locally owned business, more than 68¢, versus 43¢ spent at a national chain, remains in Milwaukee. Featured MemberMilwaukee Film Milwaukee Film is a newly established organization, formed in 2008 with the goal of annually putting on a world class film festival in Milwaukee. The 2009 Milwaukee Film Festival was held over 11 days, screened 162 films, and had a total attendance of more than 20,000. The 2010 Milwaukee Film Festival will be held Sept. 23-Oct.3. Our mission also includes education, especially for youth, year-round programming that enriches the film offerings for the local community, and an active dialogue with our audience. learn more about our member businesses here » |
