Why Local First?
In order to make Milwaukee a more sustainable community, our goal is to build market share for locally-owned, independent businesses by increasing awareness about the personal and community benefits of choosing local. Remember, for every $1 you spend at a locally owned business, more than 68¢, versus 43¢ spent at a national chain, remains in Milwaukee. Featured MemberComet Cafe Comet's mission is to make good, basic food from scratch. We hope our food will remind you of mom's home cooking. Today we live our lives fast: we eat fast, and we're surrounded by the same fast food in every place, on every highway, in every city. So we make our food from the ground up! We take a lot of care in making our food and we use fresh, seasonal ingredients characteristic of the Midwest and purchased from as many local purveyors, farms and businesses as possible.
